Rajasthan Administrative Service, Popularly Known as RAS, is a State Civil Services of State Rajasthan Along with Rajasthan Accounts Service, Rajasthan Police Service and Other Services and Other Services. RAS officers start service as assistant collector and executive magistrate in training period. After training they usually serve as Sub-Divisional Magistrate for some years. After that they are posted as additional district collector and additional district magistrate or additional Divisional Commissioner till their induction in Indian Administrative Service by promotion. Beside these posts they also hold various other posts like Deputy Secretary to Rajasthan Government, Joint Secretary to Rajasthan Government, Deputy Inspector General Stamp and Registration, Special Assistant to State Minister, Commissioner to Municipal Corporation, Additional Chief Executive Officer to Zila Parishad, chief executive officer to Zila Parishad, District Supply Officer, Secretary to Urban Improvement Trust, Registrar to State University, District Excise Officer, Member of Board of Revenue, Deputy and additional Commissioner to Colonization and many other posts to different departments.

RPSC RAS Exam 2023

The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) has the responsibility under the Constituton of India to conduct recruitment for state services and also look into matters of their transfers, promotion and disciplinary action. In this context, RPSC holds, Rajasthan State and Subordinate Services Combined Exam to select candidates for various posts under the state government through RPSC RAS Exam 2023. These employees are assigned to work in a number of important divisions, including general administration, land records, land income etc.

RPSC Exam 2023 Age Limit

For RPSC Exam 2023, candidates must be at least 21 years old and not older than 40 years old as of January 1, 2023. The following table is provided on the age relaxation for candidates under the reserved category:

RPSC Exam Pattern

The RPSC Prelims Exam stage consists of one paper of General Knowledge and General Science. In this paper, 150 multiple-choice questions are asked, each of which carries equal marks. Paper will be of total 200 marks which have to be completed in 3 hours. There is a negative marking of 1/3 mark for the wrong answer.

After qualifying for prelims, the candidate has to write the RPSC Mains Exam. This exam is subjective in nature and consists of 4 General Studies papers (Paper-I, II, III, IV), each of a maximum of 200 marks and a duration of 3 hours.

RPSC Exam Syllabus

Along with the official announcement for the RPSC RAS Exam Notification, the RPSC RAS Syllabus has also been made available. Every year, the Commission publishes a notification with the official syllabus, which is similar to the UPSC syllabus. The prelims exam is administered in a similar manner as the UPSC exam.
