Indian Coast Guard Eligibility Criteria for 2021-22

As per the Indian Coast Guard official notification, the eligibility criteria for the year 2021-22 are followed by certain affecting factors like age relaxation, post, seniority, and so on. All the male candidates are required to check the eligibility criteria before applying for the exam.

Indian Coast Guard Age Limit

To pass the eligibility criteria, the candidate needs to touch or pass the minimum age limit for their respective posts. The minimum age limit is 18 years, and the maximum age limit is till 22 years of age. Otherwise, the age limit is differentiated post-wise. • For Navik (GD) and Yantrik: Candidate should be born between 01 April 2000 to 31 July 2004.
• For Navik (DB): Candidate should be born between 01 October 2000 to 30 September 2004.
• Moreover, the age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ ST and 3 years for OBC candidates are also applicable.

Indian Coast Guard Educational Qualification

• For Navik (General Duty)

The candidate should pass at least 10+2 passed with Mathematics and Physics from an education board recognized by the Council of Boards for School Education.

• For Navik (Domestic Branch)

The candidate should pass at least 10th Class passed from an education board recognized by the Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE).

• For Yantrik

Candidates should be 10th class passed from an education board recognized by Council of Boards for School Education and Diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical / Electronics/ Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering of duration 03 or 04 years approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).

OR

They should be 10th& 12th class passed from an education board recognized by Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE)” or “Diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical / Electronics/ Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering of duration 02 or 03 years approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).

Indian Coast Guard Nationality

ICG Selection Procedure & Exam Pattern

The ICG exam procedure is divided into four main stages, ie, Computer Based examination (stage I), Physical fitness (Stage II), Document verification (Stage III), and Document submission (Stage IV). A candidate who clears all four stages will be wholeheartedly invited to join their respective job post.

Written Test

This will be an objective type MCQ paper. The question paper will be designed including questions from General knowledge, Reasoning, Aptitude, English. Moreover, it may consist of questions from the respective post, for example, (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics).

Physical Fitness Test

The candidate has to complete a 1.6 Km run in 6 minutes, which further includes 20 squat ups (Uthak Baithak) with, 10 Push-ups.

Document Verification & Submission

• Verifying the photograph of the candidate.
• Verifying the signature and biometric- left thumbprint in all the stages.
• An identification mark on the candidate’s body or face.
